Saturday, April 13 from 4-7 pm at The Flagship, an historic venue located in Downtown Fort Lauderdale!
Proceeds from this year’s Gala will go to two very worthy nonprofit organizations: 1) Latinos Salud, a local safe haven offering free testing and other non-medical HIV/AIDS support services for Gay Latinos, transgendered persons, and anyone living with HIV; and 2) The Pet Project, which provides pet food and supplies and reduced cost veterinary care to individuals who are financially challenged due to terminal illness, disability, aging, or victims of crime.
Tickets to the event are $100 each until March 31, 2019 and $125 after March 31, 2019. All guests will be treated to an open bar and unlimited hors d’oeuvres. A limited number of reserved VIP tables are available for $1000, which includes 5 tickets to the Gala, 2 bottles of champagne, and recognition at the event. Latinos Salud was founded to create a safe space for Latino gay guys and their partners to find friends, support and resources. The organization strives to provide client-centered, culturally-competent health education and integrated preventive, screening, and linkage services throughout South Florida in order to reduce the burden of communicable diseases and improve health outcomes.
Today, Latinos Salud operates three full-time locations to maximize its reach throughout South Florida, offering both appointment and walk-in service five days a week in Wilton Manors, Miami Beach, and Miami Southwest as well as mobile outreach and testing. Their diverse programs serve thousands of people every year.
The Pet Project was originally established to assist individuals having HIV/AIDS. Carefully modeled after the successful POWARS (Pet Owners with AIDS Resource Services) program, services were offered to those who qualified within the Broward & Miami/Dade area.
Today, having kept thousands of “Pets & People Together Forever”, The Pet Project continues to grow, and hopes to expand and be seen not only throughout the state of Florida, but throughout the country. The goal to provide food, veterinarian services, foster and find homes for pets suffering from the loss of their human companion will never change – that is the foundation of The Pet Project.
